THE DAILY LIFE OF A WHEELER IN MONTREAL

THE DAILY LIFE OF A WHEELER IN MONTREAL

I've already been doing electric wheel for more than 6 months. This coincides with my arrival in Montreal, Quebec. I will share with you my feelings about the "beast" in the streets of this great city.

A SURPRISING MEANS OF TRANSPORT

"Tabarnouche! Did you bring this thing from Europe?". "What the fuck that's future!". That's how the people I meet in the street exclaim every time I walk by. And I was like them. I found my new job three quarters of an hour's walk from my condo when I thought there must be another cool way to get around town faster. I first rented Bixi's and then quickly found the electric scooters that you see everywhere in Montreal during the summer attractive.

But in winter where could I put this machine, me living on the 3rd floor of a 3/2? So I looked at electric scooters. That's when I discovered the gyroroue. I knew about gyropods but frankly I didn't find it very practical. Going down or up the sidewalks, the speed, autonomy and clutter would limit my use. After reading tons of articles and reviews on the electric unicycle I threw myself in the water.

LET'S DO IT AND GLIDE ON THE ROAD

I found Guillaume's store that was launching his business in Montreal, he too was convinced that this little car was the most efficient means of transportation for Montreal. He offered me a consequent price that I couldn't refuse. I chose the V5F from the Inmotion brand. Autonomy of 40km, trolley, circuit breaker, maximum speed of 25km/h, side bearings and front and rear headlights. Perfect for my daily travels! It took me 2 days to adopt the "beast". After that, it's ONLY HAPPINESS!

I feel like I'm skiing in the streets of Montreal in the middle of summer! I go to my job with a smile, I take detours, I pass by cars and I sneak away. I don't sweat at all and I've never felt so free in my urban transportation! You still have to be careful, danger lurks around every corner!

It is necessary to be equipped accordingly: helmet and wrist protection minimum. Then what is really disturbing in Montreal is the state of the asphalt. We must be doubly vigilant. In winter, until December, depending on the snow, you can use it and it's fine!

It's been a week since I put it away, it's January 16th. I followed Guillaume's advice for the maintenance of the battery during the winter. It will wait for spring to come out of its hibernation.

But it's worth it!
